しつれいですが、私の日本語は悪いです。
I have Ubuntu 11.04 on my PC - all is good, but: all files, which named by kanji is not correct view. Kana's simbols view correctly, but always square instead of kanji.
ibus is work, Anthy method. (you can see). But Nautilus can't read kanji, kana only. Help, how can i fix it?
Nautilus don't read files copied from windows, don't read files which named with ibus... I'm stuck. On russian forum people don't know what to do and i came here.
P.S.: Sorry if that section of forum is wrong.

Hi,

I guess your system don't have Japanese fonts OR fail to associate Japanese characters with Japanese fonts.
At first, we should check installed font package. Please open "GNOME Terminal" (gnome-termilal) and try to execute below command,
$ dpkg -l | grep ttf;
You may get a long output but I hope to post whole output in this thread.

OK. So please install a package 'ttf-kochi-gothic'. This is the first candidate for Japanese sans-serif characters, refering to '/etc/fonts/conf.d/40-nonlatin.conf' (included in package 'fontconfig-config').
Please inform me if you cannot get expected rendering. Then the file list under '/etc/fonts/conf.d' will be a help.

That may help you.
Or, change the default fonts in the font setting dialog.
Best!

Thanks, hmatsue.
But this time, I hope to apply my solution because this issue relates some bugs which Ubuntu Japanese Team will manage to fix till the next release. I need to identify which setting causes this and now I guess the possibility of the font candidates list describes on 40-nonlatin.conf I mentioned.
Great thanks ;-)

OK. Next, we should check the fonts which is selected in 'gnome-appearance-properties'. You can see some font configuration in "Font" tab. The configuration in 'Application' is related to the rendering of Nautilus or the other applications like Thunderbird.
In my computer, "Ubuntu Regular" is selected and get a good view of Japanese characters.
