Let's Note Y2：スタンドバイ･休止モードの問題

こんばんは。

パナソニックLet’ｓ　NoteのY2FW7AXRのラップトップでKubuntuのGutsy Gibbonを利用しています。Linuxの初心者ですが、数多くの方の支持とアドバイスのおかげさまで、必要なソフトウェア・周辺機のドライバーなどのインストールに成功できました。

但し、かなり気になる問題が一つ残っています：
Kubuntuのラップトップをスタンドバイか休止モードにしようとすると、システムが決まって故障してしまいます。スタンドバイは一応そのモードには入りますが、再スタートすると画面が戻ってきません。休止モードはさらにひどいみたいです：休止モードの課程をスタートすると、ラップトップがそのモードに入らず、画面が真っ暗になるだけです（但し、左上のコーナーにCommandLineっぽい点滅しているカーソルが残っています）。システムがまったく反応しなくなってしまいます。

UbuntuやKubuntuの英語版フォーラムにすでに投稿してみましたが、役に立つ返事がありませんでした。（Let's Noteを持っている人が少ないせいかな？）

同じような問題にぶつかった方はいませんか？問題の解決に役に立ちそうなアドバイスがあったら一番ありがたいですが、せめてどういうプロセスがスタンドバイ・休止モードを管理しているか、教えていただけますか？

PS:　ちなみに、UbuntuのLiveCDを使ってスタンドバイ・モードを試してみましたが、問題なくスタンドバイに入り、そしてまたそこから回復できました。つまり、KDE上のプロセスの問題なのかな…？

先日、Linux系のOpenSuse10.3（KDE版）を試してみましたが、スタンドバイ・休止モードはKubuntuと同様、失敗でした。

　CF-Y5で7.10のUBUNTUを使っています。

サスペンドは、ほぼ正常に動いていますが、復帰後には画面上の同じ位置にノイズ(ライン)が現れます。
ハイバネートは、左上のコーナーにCommandLineっぽい点滅しているカーソルが残っています。
その後、コマンドの入力画面が現れ、サスペンドからの復旧画面と同じ状態になるため、ハイバネートは
正常には動いていません。

CF-Y4でUbuntu 7.10では、サスペンドもハイバネートも問題なくできました。
ハイバネートから復帰する際に、画面に多少ノイズが出ますが、パスワード入力後は元の状態です。

上記で気になったのですが、なぜ Swap が 0 なんでしょうか？
OpenSuSE は LiveCD で起動したのでしょうか？
