Ubuntu初心者です。
使いたいソフトウェアがOpenGL の 3.1以上のバージョンを要求しているので、OpenGLのアップグレードを行いたいのですが、その方法が分かりません。
Ubuntuのバージョンは14.04, グラフィックボードはIntel Corporation Sky Lake Integrated Graphics (rev 07)です。

その他、ハードウェアの情報は以下の通りです。
ヒントだけでもお教えいただけると助かります。

以下は、自分でOpenGLのアップデートの問題に対処しようとして、結局失敗するまでの流れになります。
自分が行いたいことはOpenGLの3.1以上のバージョンへのアップグレードであり、以下の方法に固執している訳ではないので、以下で自分が行っていることが見当違いな場合、無視して他の方法を教えていただけると助かります。

Intelのグラフィックドライバのインストールを行えば良いかと思い、

から
「Intel Graphics Driver Installer 1.0.7 Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit」
をダウンロードして実行したところ
