今回初めて、Windows10 PCにUbuntuをインストールしマルチブートで使っていました。

HDDの構成はWindowsの
・Cドライブ(80GB)/dev/sda1、/dev/sda3
・Dドライブ(1TB)を/dev/sdb3：Ubuntuシステムの保存ドライブ
に割り当てて使用していました。

今回、下記のバージョンアップをしたら起動ができなくなってしまいました。
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS ⇒ Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

その時のメッセージは、下記が表示されて止まってしまいます。
以降は、[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Delete]で再起動させました。

苦戦しながら、Boot Menuで
[Advanced options for Ubuntu]を選択し
[Ubuntu, with Linux 4.4.0-59-generic (upstart)]を選択するとデスクトップ画面が表示されました。

・Boot Repairをインストールして実行しましたが、復旧できず。

起動時に表示されるメッセージを解読しようと試みましたが、
・作成揮発性ファイルとディレクトリを始めることに失敗した。
・ネットワーク時間同期を始めることに失敗した
・詳細は、'systemd-tmpfiles-setup.service'を見なさい
では、どのように手を付けて良いのか、見当がつきませんでした。

本件、一度同じ不具合に陥り、Ubuntuを再インストールしました。
バージョンアップ時に間違った動作をさせてしまったと思い、もう一度慎重にバージョンアップを実施しましたが同じ結果でした。

現在は、起動時にBoot MenuからUpstartを毎回選択して対処しています。

電源投入したらＵｂｕｎｔｕが立ち上がるようにしたいと思います。どなたか、ご教示お願いします。
