初めまして。yuichと申します。
今回はモニターの解像度を変更したいと思っています。

ビデオボードはNVDIA Go GeForce 7300で、画素数は1400*1050です。
初回起動時には1028*724で起動していました。

そこで過去ログ（http://forum.ubuntulinux.jp/viewtopic.php?pid=406）を拝見しまして、
自分なりにX-serverを編集してみたのですが、
クラッシュしてしまいました（ToT
なんとかCUIからXの復帰に成功したものの、解像度が800*600に下がってしまいました。

その後も初心者なりに手を尽くしてみましたが、いかんせん生兵法で悪化するのが
目に見えているので、できれば意見を請わせていただきたいと思いますm(__)m

ひとまず、やや大きめになりますが、Xorgのコンフィグを貼り出してみます。
