可能性として考えられるのはまず、64bit版のほうをダウンロードしてしまったことです。
Pentium Mは32bitなので、32bit版である必要があります。

32bit版なのに起動しないとしたら、
Pentium MはPAE非対応なのに、PAEの必要なカーネルだからだということです。


思うにそもそも、Ubuntu11.10（Oneric）では古すぎて、使い続けるのは危険なわけですが、
最新のUbuntuでは確かPAE対応である必要があり、いまのUbuntuのLiveCDでは起動しないと思われます。

11.10のLiveCD（DVD）があれば、そこからブートしてGRUBを更新する方法があります。

なお、PAE非対応でも11.10から12.10にアップグレードするのは可能だという話はあるようです。（おそらく、11.10で起動中にdo-release-upgradeするということでしょうね。）

現在最新のディストリビューションでPAE不要なカーネルを採用しているものの情報も上記にありますね。

端末でのコマンド入力が不正のようです。下記コードをコピー＆ペーストしてみてください。

大変ご迷惑をお掛けします。コマンドに関しては、いつも自信が無く、特にスペースには注意するのですが、間違いの時はunknown command と出ると思っていました。

コピー＆ペースト でやり直しましたが、今度は下記内容にて進みません。

GPartedで　パーティションの欄は、/dev/sda5 とその後に赤丸のビックリマーク！が出ています。
ファイルシステムは、ext4です。
スクリーンショットの添付方法が分かりません。

ファイルシステムの情報がおかしくなっているので、
sudo fsck.ext4 -v /dev/sda5
をすれば、うまくいけば直ります。

sudoを実効しました。下記内容が出ていますが yesで進めてよろしいでしょうか？
