同じような質問があるので参考にさせてもらいましたが、私では解決できませんので、手を貸してください。

「ソフトウェアとアップデート」で「リポジトリ情報のダウンロードに失敗しました。」と出てしまいます。
右上部分には△に！の赤いマークが出ます。
が、「アップデートの表示」を見ると、最新ですと書いてあります・・・・

まず私の環境ですが、Ubuntu14.04LTS　日本語REMIX　64bit
自作PC　CPU　Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU E8400 @ 3.00GHz × 2
　　　　メモリ　3.9 GiB
　グラフィックス　GeForce 210/PCIe/SSE2
です。

拙い、私の憶測で、「binary-i386q」が悪いのでは？と思っているのですが、削除しようにも仕方がわからない等
ほとほと困っている状態です。
ちなみに、こうなるようになったのは、3,4日前からで、それまでは問題なくアップデートできていました。

どうか解決策を教えてくださいますようお願いいたします。
