さっそくの、ご指導ありがとう御座います。

現在、606alternateで再インストールし直して、ローカライズ化、アップデート完了の、606最新状態のテスト機を用意しました。インストールアプリケーションなど標準もままです。関係ないと思いますが一応カーネル2.6.15-51-386です。。アップデト効かないのでinstallで入れました。

最初にご提示いただきましたURLは以前に見たのですが英語なので良く分からないのです。すみません。いま読みかえしています。

いま使っている606は大変に手を入れたのでクリーンインスコは考えておりません。たまたまテスト機が有ったので再現しているだけで，成功したら正規で行いとと存じています。

中間報告です。
apdate-maneger -d しますと，アップデートマネジャが起動し，「すべてのアップデートをインストールする事が出来ません。」「ほかのソフトを削除しなけれりゃならないアプデートがあります。完全にグレードするにはSynapticの「すべてのアップグレードにマーク機能」を使うか，端末から「apt-get dist-upgrade」を実行して下さい。」と出ます。
この時のアプデトマネジャ起動時に端末に「/usr/lib/python2.4/site-pakeges/apt/_init_.py:17:FutureWarning:apt API not stable yet」
「warnings.warn("apt API not stable yet" ,FutureWarning)」
と出ています。

とりあえず apt-get dist-upgrade しますと，
暫く動作を続け，「console-setup を設定しています」ダイアログになります。
「Notice the listed keysare not present on all keyboards」で「了解」をEnterしますと，また走り始めます。

再度，「console-setup を設定しています」ダイアログが登場します。
「Method for toggling between natinal and Latin mode」で，何だか解らないので適当に「alt+Shift」を選択して「了解」をEnterしました。

今度は「Confiling libc6」ダイアログが出ます。googleで翻訳して何となく必要そうだったので「OK」をEnterしました。

再度，「Confiling libc6」が登場し，「Do you want to yograde glibc now?」と出ますしたので「Yes」でEnterしました。

再再度，「Confiling libc6」が登場し，「services to restart for gnu libc library upgrade」が出ます。入力欄には「rsync cupsys cron atd」と有りました。「OK」でEnterしました。

また走り始めます。

最後に以下のメッセージで終了しました。ところどころ英語になってる他は大きな不具合は無いですが8.04になってる感じは有りません。

606→804は本来ならupgardeできるみたいです。

guiでやってみました。

souses.listにhardy-update  main restricd univers multiversを追記して，dapperをコメントアウト。
Synapticで「再読込」「全てアップグレード」を行いました。
「依存により要求された変更を追加するか？」で「マーク」。「以下の変更を適用するか」で適用。
「全ての変更が完了した」で終了。再起動→画面起動せず。
Ctrl + Alt + Backspase でX再起動→ログイン画面は表示される→ログイン作業→画面起動せず。

upgradeで必要なリポジトリが有りましたら，ご教示お願いします。

起動しない(ように見える)のは恐らく仰せの通りだったと思います。しかし再インストールしてしまいました。

aptで行うことに拘っていません。アプデトマネジャに「アップグレードする」と言うボタンが出現していないのです。

#2でhitoさんが提示してくれた最初のリンク（もしくはこれ）によると、7.10＞8.04と同じようなボタンがあらわれるはずなんですよね。

一応、簡単に手順を翻訳すると、
1. システム＞システム管理＞ソフトウェア・ソースのアップデートタブのdapper-updatesのチェックをいれる。
2. システム＞システム管理＞アップデート・マネージャから、「再チェック」ボタンを押してすべてのアップデートを適用する。
3. Alt+F2を押して、gksu update-manager -dを実行する。
4. 「再チェック」ボタンを押して、アップデートを確認する。
5. 8.04が利用可能ですみたいなメッセージが表示される。
6. 「アップグレード」ボタンを押す。
7. 画面上の指示に従う。
となります。


ちなみに、archive.ubuntulinux.jpが自動でコメントアウトされてしまうのは正しい動作です。

7.10のアップデートマネージャに表示されていた，
「New distribution release "8.04.1 LTS" is available」とアップグレードボタンが，
08年07月の半ば頃より，6.06にも表示されるようになりました。
解決できると思われる，いくつかの問題点が有りますが，一応のアップグレード完了を得ました。
6.06→8.04はAPTでは困難かも知れません。
アップグレードを検討中の方々は，アップデートマネージャを利用されることをお勧めします。
