ATI Radeon HD 4200ではサスペンド・ハイバネートができるのか。

自作PCでGPUがATI Radeon HD 4200(オンボード)に変わったのですが、それからサスペンド・ハイバネートができなくなりました。
過去ログを見て色々と試してみましたが、解決しないため、相性が悪いのだと思い、今まで諦めていました。
ところがふとWikiのハードウェアサポート情報を見たところ、Radeon HD 4200では特に問題点がないと書かれてありました。
ということは、他のRadeon HD 4200のPCでは正常にサスペンド・ハイバネートできるということでしょうか。

それを追記した者です。うちではサスペンドもハイバネートもできています。
購入後、OSインストール前にいろいろBIOSを設定した記憶があり、その時リポストスクリーンアフターハイバネーションとかいう項目をYesにした気がします。
同様の項目があれば試してみて下さい。
それでもダメならHD4200の問題ではない気がするのでM/B型式を投稿してみて下さい。

Manualをダウンロードして正確な項目名を確認しました。
"Repost Video on STR Resume"です。STRはSuspend To Ramの意味のようです。
もしかするとハイバネーションには関係ないかも知れません。
こちらのM/Bは
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=M3A785GMH/128M
のものです。マニュアルを見て気になるBIOS項目があれば、聞いていただければ後日確認してご連絡致します。

マザーボードは、「GIGABYTE GA-785GMT-USB3」です。
BIOSの「ACPI Suspend Type」では「S3(STR)」に設定されています。

GA-785GMT-USB3のマニュアルを落としてみて、ちょっと探してみた感じでは、
同等と思われる項目は無さそうですね。
型式を頼りに検索してみましたが有力な情報は見当たりませんでした。
USB3.0やPhenom II X6に対応の最新式のものであるため、ちょっと難しいの
かも知れません。

# すいませんが、「思い当たるもの」が外れていました。
# どなたか、解析手段について心当たりあれば、ご参加下さい。

軽く試してみました。
関連するところがあるとすると、"Repost Video on STR Resume"ぐらいかなぁ、と思っていたのですが、これをYes/No切り替えてみても影響はありませんでした(サスペンド、ハイバネート共に問題無し)。

あとは、HD4200関連でハマるところがあるとすると、オンボードのSideportMemoryの有効化、無効化ぐらいだと思うのですが、GA-785GMT-USB3には、SideportMemoryはなさそうですね。

メーカー製PCから自作PCに変えたので、M/BからCPUまで全て買い換えました。

サスペンドなどができなくなるのは全てGPUに原因があると思っていました。マザーボードに原因がある可能性までは考えていませんでした。
ですので、GPUが怪しいという根拠はありません。

こんな感じのログがでていないでしょうか。
もし、なにもでずに本当のフリーズのような状態になっているのであれば、ちょっと解析の手段が思いあたりません。。

フリーズすらしません。サスペンドやハイバネートをクリックしてもlxsession-logoutが閉じるだけです。
ログも何も記録されていません。

lxsessionということはLXDEですか。
ログにもなにもでずに、フリーズしたわけでもないということはLXDEの処理が異常終了していたりということはないでしょうか。
~/.xsession-errors
になにかメッセージがでていないか、別のデスクトップ環境ならどうなるかなどから調査してみてはいかがでしょう。

使っているデスクトップ環境はLubuntu 10.04です。#1で書いておくべきでした。以後気をつけます。

ログにもなにもでずに、フリーズしたわけでもないということはLXDEの処理が異常終了していたりということはないでしょうか。

たしかに警告が出ました。

調べてみたところ、pm-utilsというパッケージをインストールすればよいことがわかりましたので、インストールして再度試してみました。
すると、一瞬画面が真っ黒になって再度復帰しました。その時、syslogに以下のようなログが出力されました。(サスペンドの場合)

あと、ログを見る限りUSBデバイスに問題がありそうなので、全て取り外してみましたが結果は同じでした。

BIOSでUSB 3.0を無効にしたら無事解決いたしました。
