FMV DESKPOWER C5/80LR にubuntu10.04をインストールし、lubuntuにして使用しています。
しかし、画像の色が正常に表示されていませんでした。
このリンクの画像のように、グラデーションがきれいに表示されません。

Windowsの場合は、デスクトップを右クリックして、モニタの設定で
色数を256色・high color(16bit)・True color(24bit)の三つから選ぶことができますが、
ubuntu(lubuntu)では設定する方法はないでしょうか?

CPU:Pen3 800Mhz

GPU:オンボード(intel 82810eチッ念のためスペックですが、プセット)

基本的には/etc/X11/xorg.confを作成してそこで指定することで対処ができるはずですが、普通は解像度とVRAMに応じて一番大きいColorDepthが選択されるはずだったと思いますので、その状態から色数を増やす(ColorDepthを例えば16bitから24bitに変更する)のは難しいのかも知れません。
現在の状態を確認するには、/var/log/Xorg.0.logの内容は見てみて下さい。
VRAMは自動設定でしょうか。もし、BIOSで固定値設定ができるなら大きめに設定することで色数を簡単に増やせるかも知れません。
確かチップセット的には自動設定(であることが多い?)だったような気がしますが、xorg.conf中でVideoRamオプションを指定するなどの方法で動的に設定できるのかも知れませんが、そのチップを搭載したマシンを触ったことが無いので詳細は分かりませんです。。
まずは、Xorg.0.logの内容を投稿いただいて、判る方からのフォローを待っていただくのが良いかと思います。

この作り方に関しては、過去のスレッドにあったと思うのでそちらも参考にしてみます。

これは残念ながら自動設定で、32Mが限界だったはずです。

ただ、デフォルトで16bitになっていたのにも理由(事情)があるかも知れませんので、もしかしたら起動に問題がでるかも知れません。
その場合はLiveCDなどでPCを起動して、HDDをマウントして/etc/X11/xorg.conf(マウントポイントからの位置で読み替えて下さい)を削除するか、
PC起動時にシフトキー連打でGrubメニューを表示させ、RecoveryモードでKernelを起動し、FailsafeXモードで起動して/etc/X11/xorg.confを削除するかして復旧させて下さい。

http://www.fmworld.net/product/former/d … eries.htmlで確認したところ、1024×768で16ビットカラーで、24ビットには対応していません。
2000年当時のPCにはよくあったことで、フレームバッファーも最大12MB、ドライバーも”VESA”ではなく”intel”が適用されていることですし、Xを使うbuntuとしては限界に近いハードです。
したがって、グラデーションが多少ギザギザでも我慢のしどころです。
