11。04にしてから音が出なくなりました。

今迄10。04LTSを利用してましたが、11。04が非常に佳いとの
事から入れました。(グレードアップじゃ無くて新規インストール)
しかし、音が全然出なくなりました。
lspciにはMultimedia audio contller としてCーMedia Electrics Inc
CM8738(rev10)と出てます。 宜しくお願い申し上げます。

機種は、本来サーバー機のNEC Express5800/110Gdです。
メモリーを4ギガ積み、音源ボードには玄人志向 CMI8738-4CHPCI

自分も同じサラウンドボードCMI8738-4CHPCI を使用し音も出ています。
システムー設定ーサラウンドーハードウェア 内部オディオー Digital Stereo (IEC958)Output + Analog Mono Input を選択したらどうでしょうか。
サラウンドカードの音声出力端子(水色の部分)にスピーカー等ををつなげてみてくだささい。

CD−ROM(DVDドライブ)からの音声ケーブルは、CMI8738-4CHPCIに接続しないと音声が出ません。

出力から判断するに、現在システムに認識されているサウンドカードはこの2つです。そのため、PulseAudioサウンドサーバーの音声出力先を玄人志向のもの(表示名はC-Media)に切り替えてあげることで、音声が出力できるようになるかと思います。

切り替えの仕方ですが、デスクトップの右上のスピーカーアイコンをクリックして起動できる「サウンドの設定」を使います。タブ「出力」で出力先を選択できます。サウンドカードの中には項目「コネクター」が表示されるものがあります。これは、たとえばデスクトップの前面に接続したイヤホン出力とマザーボードにくっついているイヤホン出力を切り替える、といった用途に使います。

この際、タブ「ハードウェア」でサウンドカード別にプロファイルを指定できるわけですが、たいていの場合は「Analog (ごにょごにょ) Output」が含まれるものを指定すれば大丈夫かと思います。「Digital (ごにょごにょ) Output」だと光デジタル出力となるため、別途、光出力を受ける装置が必要となります。

当方のモノだと仰る様な具合になりません。
システムー設定ーサラウンドーハードウェアまで出て来ますけど
内部オディオーが出て来ないのです。
ハードウェアは「サウンドの設定」になり、その中には「内部オディオー」
も出無くて「選択したデバイスの設定」でプロファイルには其れが有りま
せん。プロファイルとしてDigital Sorrond 5.1(HDMI) nr 4 outoput
4、3、2とoutput そしてDigital Stereo(HDMI) 4、3、2とoutputと
しか出て来ないのです。
因みに「音源ボード」が玄人志向 CMI8738-4CHPCI なのですが、
yasushi04の云われる「サラウンドカードの音声出力端子(水色の部分)
にスピーカー等を・・・・」で実施しても全然「音」は出ません。

この出力からは、PulseAudioはひとつのサウンドカードしか検出していないことがわかります。

ここまでの状況を整理すると
1. lspciから、2つのサウンドカードが認識されている
2. pacmdから、そのうち1つのサウンドカードしか認識されていない

そのため、玄人志向のものが利用できない状態であることがわかります。

その原因がyasushi04さんのいうBIOSの設定なのか、それともLinuxのサウンドドライバーの実体であるカーネルモジュールにあるのか、はたまたPulseAudioが自動検出にコケているだけなのか、段階を追って調べていく必要がありますね。

差し当たり、ダイレクトなサウンドカードのテストを試してみるのがいいかと思います。ダイレクトなテストを実施しても音声が出なかった場合はBIOSやカーネルモジュールを疑い、もし音声が出たらPulseAudioの自動検出を疑うことができるからです。

先立って出力先のIDを特定したいと思いますので、以下の出力を教えて下さい。

$ aplay -L;

出力を見ると、NVIDIAのサウンドカードしか表示されていません。実はこの出力では、サウンドドライバーが設けている、サウンドデバイスへの入力先を見ています。

ここまでの状況をさらに整理しますと以下のようになるかと思います。

1. lspci: システムには2つのサウンドカードが認識されている
2. aplay: サウンドドライバーがそのうち1つのサウンドカードにしか入力先を設定していない
3. pacmd: PulseAudioはそのサウンドカードしか認識できない

Ubuntuが標準で使用しているサウンドドライバーは、ALSAのカーネルモジュールです。今回はおそらくこの適用に難があって、うまく行っていないのかなと思います。

まず、使っているサウンドデバイスどカーネルモジュールの関係を把握したいので、以下の出力を教えて下さい。以前試していただいたコマンド「lspci」をオプションと共に実行することで、サウンドカードに関するより詳細な情報を取得します。

コード:

$ lspci -vnns 0a:02.0;

サウンドカードを挿す場所を変更するとバス番号が変わってしまいますので、その場合はコマンド「lspci」でバス番号を再確認してから、上記を読み替えて実行して下さい。

ドライバーとなるカーネルモジュールとして、snd-cmipciが使用可能ですね。もしこのカーネルモジュールがロードされている場合、「Kernel driver in use: snd-cmipci」という出力が含まれるため、現在はドライバーとなるカーネルモジュールが何も適用されてないとみて間違いないでしょう。

とりあえず、手動でカーネルモジュールをロードしてみましょうか。以下のコマンドを実行してみて下さい。

コード:

$ gksudo modprobe snd-cmipci;

パスワードを入力すると、カーネルモジュールがロードされます。ロードされたかどうかは、以下の出力に「snd-cmipci」が含まれているかで確認できます。

コード:

$ lsmod;

確認できましたら、以下のコマンドでサウンドカードに適用されたかどうか確認して下さい。項目「Kernel driver in use: snd-cmipci」が含まれていればOKです。

$ lspci -vnns 0a:02.0;

再度、以下の出力を確認して、サウンドデバイスへの出力先が設けられたかどうか確認して下さい。

$ aplay -L;

ここまでがうまく行ったのであれば、PulseAudioも自動認識するはずです。以下の出力に含まれているかどうか確認して下さい。

$ pacmd list-cards;

もしちゃんと認識できていれば、デスクトップの右上のスピーカーアイコンから起動できる「サウンドの設定」のタブ「ハードウェア」やタブ「出力」で、玄人志向のサウンドカードを選択できるようになっています。タブ「ハードウェア」ではプロファイルとして「Analog Output」を含むものを選択し、タブ「出力」で玄人志向のサウンドカードに切り替えてみて下さい。

音声出力のテストは、Totetm動画プレイヤーやBanshee音楽プレイヤーを使っていただければと思います。

以上、長くなりましたが、試してみてその結果を教えて下さい。設定を恒久化する方法は追ってご説明しようと思います。

この操作は、すでにコンパイル済みのカーネルモジュールをロードしているため、コンパイルに時間がかかっているわけではありません。何らかの理由でカーネルモジュールがロードできないということを意味しています。

ちょっと予想だにしなかった展開ですので、システムのログを見てみたいと思います。システムを再起動したらファイル「/var/log/dmesg」をテキストエディタで開いて、内容を教えていただけるでしょうか?結構長い出力ですので、驚かないでください。

ちょうどPCの前で作業中でしたので。

出力を見る限り、先頭の部分が切れてしまってますね。端末でcatコマンドで見たりしたのかなと推測します。テキストエディタで開くと先頭が切れませんので、お願いできますでしょうか?

書き損じです、寝ぼけていたようです。。。

11.10にアップグレードされたということで、先にそれを知らせていただきたかったなぁと思いました。

さて、ログを見る限り私には問題となるような箇所は見当たらないように思いました。#9にてyasushi04さんがBIOSのモード切り替えに関して言及されてますので、そちらを確認してみるのがよいのかなと思います。

せる様になった事を思い出しました。  年寄りは、ダメですネ!。

斯様な次第なので

ならば、もう一つのサウンドカードを認識出来る方法は無いもので
しょうか?。 認識させる方法が有るならお教え戴けませんか。

LTSと比べて、11。04/11。10に何か私の物と
合致出来無い様です。 仕方泣く!(「無く」です
がコレが出て「侘し哭き」です)10。04を再度の
インストールをしました。しかし、インストール出来
ても起動が出来ず総ての付属機器を取り外して
ヤット現在可能になりました。 矢張り、この儘の
10。04LTSでヤッテみます。
