11。10へのバージョンアップから「音」で悩んでます。
以前、・・志向でも「音」を出せず、表題にしてるクリエイテェブ
へと変更をしたのです。
W7も稼働させてますので、そちらに問題は有りませんがUbuntu
だと「音」が出ないのです。・・志向でもW7は「音」も出てますけど、
エコーが酷くて替えました。しかし、Ubuntuだと「音」が出ないのです。
何方かCREATIVE Sound Blastrer 5.1VX で「音」を出せる方法
を教えて戴けませんでしょうか?。
なお、cat /proc/asound/cardsでは

私のサウンド・デバイスもSound Blastrerですが、古いボードで16bit仕様です。
こちらのデバイスでは何ら問題なく動作します。

Sound Blastrer 5.1VXのchipは、24bit仕様のCA0106が使われているので、
AlsaProjectの皆さんが努力されており、Ubuntu11.10への対応にそれなりの時間が必要なのではと推測します。

最新版のalsa-driverをdownloadしてコンパイルし、モジュールを入れ替えたら動作するかもしれません。
こちらに似たようなボードで苦労した経験を記載しています。
コンパイルの仕方の事例を載せていますので、挑戦されるのなら誰かがアドバイスしてくれるでしょう。。。

旨く認識できておらず駄目でした。

なるほどハード的には認識されているが、alsaレベルで認識されていない様ですね。
取り敢えず、alsaのバージョンはどうなっていますか?
$ cat /proc/asound/version の結果を提示してください。
少し前のUbuntuバージョンでは、自動認識され動作していたようなので、
CA0106本体のモジュールのプログラムに問題なく、カーネルがアップしようが稼働すると想定されます。
そこで、今回のカーネルでは自動認識しないため、適切なモジュール自体が組み込まれず、
必然的に音が鳴らないのだと考えます。
よって、CA0160を意図的に指定してモジュールを作成し、カーネルに組み込めば動作すると推察します。
ここらは、私より詳しい方のコメントを期待します。

ので認識されなず「音」も出ないと云う事なのですね。
是を認識させて稼働可能にするのはどの様にするのでしょう?。

これらの結果から、最新版のalsa driverは1.0.24だし、カーネル・モジュールもsnd-ca0106が適用されています。
でもモジュールからSoundblaster 5.1VXが認識されていません。
ソースコードをdownloadしてコンパイルして、モジュールを作成しても同様の結果になります。
よって、現時点では諦めてください。
努力されているので、alsa-projectの次期バージョンが出るのを期待するしかないと思います。
音は取り敢えずグラボのNVidiaのHDMIが認識されているので、こちらから取り出すしかないようです。

koisan1949さんのおっしゃるとおり、現状では諦めるほかないでしょう。このフォーラムでも「Creative Sound Blastrer 5.1VX」は導入失敗事例がそれなりの数報告されています。
ただ、ちょっと参考のために3点ほど教えていただきたいのですが
1.端末を開いて以下のコマンドを実行して下さい。出力結果に「snd-ca0106」が含まれているか確認して下さい。
$ lsmod;
2. もし含まれていたら、以下のファイルが自動で作成されています。Nautilusなどのファイルビューワーでファイルをクリックして下さい。たぶんテキストエディタなどが開いて内容を見ることができます。その内容をコピペして教えて下さい。
ファイル「/sys/module/snd_ca0106/parameters/subsystem」
3. 同じくNautilusなどのファイルビューワーで以下のファイルをクリックして内容を見てください。そして、内容をコピペして教えて下さい。なるべく起動直後が好ましいです。
ファイル「/var/log/dmesg」

サウンドドライバーとなるカーネルモジュールをオプション「subsystem=0x10041102」付きで有効化するように設定を変更したので、多少なりとも状態が変化するかなと思いましたが、その様子ではやはり変わらないようですね。。。
現状ではやはり諦めるほかないようです。

是は数年前、ネットで非常な廉価(タッタの一万チョット!)で入手した為、
「年寄り《金無漏塵》」の貴重品として使ってるのですけど駄目なのですか!。
誠に残念!且つ「侘びしい」デスねぇ~。 音源ユニットの変更で「音」を出す
事も出来ないのでしょうか?。何か「音」を出せる方法は無いのでしょうか?。
何方か《NEC Express5800/110Gd》で「音」を出せる方法をご存知
でしたら是非とも宜しくお願い申し上げます。

もっとも簡単な対処は、中古市場でPCIbus 16bit版のsound blasterを入手することです。
chipがEMU10K1なら、まず問題なく稼働します。

このボード類を何種類か持っていて、それらをP4 machineに挿していますが、
私の経験則から言って、全てUbuntuのバージョンに関係なく動作しています。
どこかに転がっていませんか。。。

なんとなく思っただけなのですけど、カーネルオプションに、noacpiとかacpi=noirqとか付けて起動してみても状況変わらないでしょうか。
# とりあえず試すだけ試してみて、サウンドカードが認識されればラッキーという程度の話です。。

残念ながら何処にも転がっていませんでした。結構彼方此方のゴミ捨て場
を以前から探してますが・・・有料になってから難しくなりました。

この音源ボードは頑丈で壊れる可能性はほとんど無く、
おそらく添付のCDがないのと、サポートが終了しているので
ホームページからdownloadできないため、鳴るか試行できないのだと思います。

Sound Blastrer 5.1VXは、音源chipsetにCA0106が使われています。
これは24bit仕様の特殊なカスタムchipです。
Not all features on all models supported. On the VX,
white noise on playback unless initialized in Windows first.
One quirky (but permanent) workaround is to enable the old oss modules,
specifically the 100% sound blaster compatible module (sb).
You don't have to load the oss modules.
The alsa module snd-ca0106 works fine somehow
if the old sb module is compiled in the kernel as a module (no white noise).
このボードの前身である旧製品の
Sound Blaster PCI 512, Sound Blaster Live, Sound Blaster Live Platinum,
Sound Blaster Live Value, Sound Blaster Live 5.1は、
16bit仕様のカスタムchip emu10k1が使用されています。
(だから、これらはSound Blastrer 5.1VXとは別のものです。)
これらのsound blaster製品群は、使用されているchipが固定されています。
このemu10k1とかemu10k2なら、Ubuntu環境では経験上問題なく自動認識してくれます。
それに比較して、sound blaster Audigy製品群は、使われているchipが多種あり、
入手して載っているchipがなんであるか確認しないことには分らないです。
詳細な製品名が掲載されてないことが多いです。だから入手しても稼働するかは不明です。
なお当然に、Windows環境ならドライバーをdownloadすれば動作します。

中古品のオークションで探すか、中古品の通信販売している店を覗かれてはどうですか。。。
